Abstract

This article aims to understand teacher training policies in the central-west region of Brazil, through its legal history in public and educational policies up to the current guidelines in force. Composed of the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District, it has historically been characterized by the strength of a strong people, seeking new opportunities, promised in the growth of a new, prosperous Brazil. Using a qualitative approach, it presents a documentary survey of the central-west region and the educational policies implemented, within a time frame between 2020 and 2025. Through a review of the state of knowledge, reliable information is gathered about the reality of teacher training, finding that in education in the Central-West Region there is a scarcity of research on teacher training policies, difficulties in resolving problems with the number of teachers available for professional practice, and gaps in initial and continuing training.
