Abstract

According to Brazilian legislation and national curriculum guidelines, the training of a teacher during the pedagogy degree must contain knowledge about human development and its age groups in order to meet the demands of early childhood education and elementary education in the physical, psychological, intellectual and social. This article aims to discuss pedagogy curricula in terms of offering subjects on human development. Based on qualitative research, analyzes of documents from twenty-seven federal institutions and the corresponding syllabuses of subjects with the theme of human development. The result of this study made it possible to understand that although there are regulations on the training of basic education teachers in Brazil in relation to child care in daycare centers and schools, the content offered in graduations on the subject of human development is fragmented and subtracted.
