Abstract

This article analyzes the use of digital applications as an inclusive strategy for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in higher education, emphasizing their benefits for learning, organization, and social interaction. The study adopts an interdisciplinary epistemological approach, articulating education, technology, and inclusion, based on a narrative literature review. It incorporates authors who discuss technologies from a social rather than technicist perspective and references Brazilian legal documents guiding inclusion. The results highlight mobile devices and applications, stressing the importance of pedagogical intentionality in mediating educational and interactive experiences, fostering autonomy, and mitigating sensory and cognitive barriers in academic contexts. Mediation is considered capable of expanding students’ conscious and active participation in university life and reinforcing institutional commitment to equity and diversity.
