Abstract

This article aims to historically contextualize the demand from the National Education Council, in 2013, for a study that would offer subsidies so that the development of socio-emotional skills and their assessment were officially part of the basic education curriculum. In order to meet the objective, qualitative research, bibliographical research and analysis of official documents were carried out, which highlight government movements in line with the private sector, since 2014, for the implementation of public policies, shaped in the scenario of global educational policies. In contextualization, we observed works that supported the implementation of socio-emotional skills in the curriculum and others that took a critical stance towards their implementation. Supported by documents such as PNE, PCN+, BNCC, the results observed point to the importance of exercising historical and anthropological reflection with young people, beyond the different political and literature positions.
